Iranian animation ‘Kelileh and Demneh’ has appeared on the silver screen at Iranian cinemas.
Directed by Alireza Tavakkoli-Bina, the animation was premiered at Farhang Cinema in Tehran.
‘Kelileh and Demneh’ animated movie was screened in the presence of some Iranian cultural officials.
The animation has received the Special Jury Award at the Children’s Fest section of the Eurasia International Film Festival in Kazakhstan, 2017.
Kelileh and Demneh are two young jackals caught up during the middle of a rainy night. Meanwhile, a horrified owl pays a visit to the king of the jungle to report about the excessive hunting he had witnessed.
‘Kelileh & Demneh’ is the Persian version of ‘The Panchatantra’, which is a Sanskrit ancient Indian collection of interrelated animal fables in verse and prose, arranged within a frame story.
The public screening of the film is scheduled to be on December 27, 2017.
